Terminations
There are a variety of terminations for a flex-circuit, and
a variety of methods for applying these terminations.
·
Connectors are usually customer selected, and can
be attached by hand-soldering, wave-soldering, or
crimping in the case of insulation displacement
connectors (IDC's). DuPont ClincherTM connectors
are a good option for many applications. Connectors
can be potted after attachment or conformally coated
for protection and insulation with epoxy, polyurethane,
or RTV.
·
Fingers can be supported or unsupported.
