Cadence Mixed-Signal Circuit Design Environment User Guide
Interface Element Macro Models
October 2003
54
Product Version 5.0
The following figure shows the insertion and representation of a D2A interface element. The
top part of the figure shows the generation and insertion of a D2A model at the interface net.
The bottom part of the figure illustrates the D2A model as it is simulated by the circuit
simulator.
The figure shows how the insertion of a D2A model affects the original N0 interface net. After
the interface element is inserted, N0 connects the interface element to the analog
component. The system generates a new digital net, N0_D1, to connect the digital
component to the interface element.
Note: The new digital node, like the interface model, appears only in the netlists and not on
the schematic.
Models for cdsSPICE and Compatible Simulators
(Note that this section is applicable for CDBA, but not OA.)
The D2A IE macro models for the cdsSpice simulator and SPICE-compatible simulators are
macro files containing a D2A interface primitive and optional analog devices.
The cdsSpice interface primitive is a two-terminal device having the following syntax and
parameters. (Two command lines are required.)
