Wildlife Linkage Habitat Analysis

Document source : www.aot.state.vt.us

Acknowledgments:

The Project Developers would like to acknowledge the financial and administrative
support of the Vermont Agency of Transportation that was essential for the successful
completion of this project. In particular, we wish to extend our sincere appreciation to
David Scott, formerly Director of Project Development; John Narowski, head of the
VTrans Environmental Section; and the VTrans Research Advisory Committee. We also
wish to acknowledge the financial and administrative support of the Vermont Fish and
Wildlife Department, in particular Ron Regan, Director of Operations, Tom Decker,
Wildlife Biologist; and Craig McLaughlin, former Director of Wildlife.

Finally, the developers of this project note for the reader that this is a GIS-based,
landscape-level model designed to predict the location of potentially significant wildlife
linkage habitats associated with state highways. There are data gaps and there may be
errors or inaccuracies in the habitat identified. The linkage habitats identified as a result
of this project will be further refined with respect to our understanding of the species that
may rely on them, the landscape features that tend to create them and the quality of
available spatial data.
