literature search, and integrate different fields and ideas. Weaknesses: time constraints, [and] inad
equate preparation to select a topic and make corrections to drafts. I'm glad that we started during
the first semester, but because we had so many other readings and writing assignments, I did not
actually select useful articles for my initial annotated bibliography. Instead,I just choose the articles
that were easiest to attain. Maybe have one article due every two weeks...."

essay topics earlier."
[from a 970 student:] "Writing the Sophomore Paper was definitely a challenge. [My tutor's] guid-
ance, support and help made it a lot easier. Making the paper a year long project really helped."
[from a 970 student:] "[need to] start 1st semester--have more draft due dates."
[from a 971 student:] "I would recommend that everyone take the year-long tutorial;it is less stress-
ful and I think would allow for a better essay. As it was for me, I was writing my essay [at the same
time as I was] learning to write."
[from a 971 student:] "The writing process was difficult but valuable. I do think that it's quite diffi-
cult to be in [a] one-semester [tutorial], and maybe the drafts should be due a little later."
